Cruel, unfair and bed of thorns. All these are the definition of life to Susan, a lady in her teen age who lost her whole family in a ghastly accident all in a day on their way back from a wedding party. Susan would also have been involved in the accident but she had to leave them behind because of her long time friend who promised to pay her a visit at their house on that day, little did she know that the friend's visit was a kind of save to her life and also saying a final goodbye to her family whom she loved so dearly because her friend couldn't make it up to their house . Her whole world seemed to crash down in a day,what else would she do in life without them,she thought. Though the family was not a very wealthy one but the parent had plans to sponsor their children to any level to which they want to get educated, unfortunately, her dreams, goals, and ambitions,all seem to be sinking without her being able to rescue them.
Susan had to start fending for herself for survival, that was when she realised that not everyone that laugh with you is actually happy with you, all her aunties, uncles ,and other family members turned their back at her, no one was ready to help in any way. Susan eventually became someone who sleeps any where the night meets her, sometimes in front of shops, uncompleted building and the likes. On faithful day, in the process of her roaming about as usual,she met a woman who appeared like a helper, the woman took her home, gave her shelter, food and all other things she needed,she even promised to sponsor her education. Susan's dream seems springing up again until this helper after sometimes introduced her to prostitution which she couldn't concur with, this made her go back to her street life again,this time around, her life became worse. As if all that happened to her wasn't enough, despite the fact that she shunned prostitution,she was raped by two men in the uncompleted building that serves as shelter to her, God appeared not to be in existence. At her tender age she has really faced a lot in life, she has faced problems that are more than her ability. What would she do to find her steps back,she thought of working as a labourer to take care of herself and sponsor her education and fortunately she got employed at a restaurant where she's being paid on daily basis which made her started saving money for her well-being and education. Susan never thought she could find herself in a situation like this where she has to face life squarely and fight her battles all by herself, she used to hear that life never move on as expected, but she didn't have the mind that she would experience such.
Her life looks outwardly like a vacuum, she wept almost everyday whenever the she thought of what she's passing through, life wasn't fair to her but notwithstanding, Susan continued her battles through struggling, persistency and prayers for some years until God eventually answered her prayers, she found herself back in the darkness of life to which she was lost and was brought back to her feet. Susan won a scholarship to get sponsored to any level of education and was also provided with all other necessities, that was how Susan scaped through and later in life became a successful woman.
Susan was able to stand the test of time, she climbed mountains and crossed oceans, she didn't let her predicament weigh her down and that's why she could find her steps back. Life thought her lots of lessons,she realized that it is not a bed of roses and doesn't go on as expected. She endured and her sinking dreams sprang up again.
